Albertville City Schools students will take the stage November 18-20 to perform the Broadway Jr version of Tony award winning Matilda, Jr. at Albertville Fine Arts Center. Public shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Saturday also features a 4 p.m. matinee.

Directed by Kelleybrooke Brown, the show features 45 students in the cast and crew, and a host of high-tech animations. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or online ahead of time at

Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!

Packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs, Matilda JR. is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

Aggie Theatre is an extracurricular activity available for all students in Albertville City Schools. Production costs are provided by the Albertville City Schools Foundation.
