The Mountain Valley Arts Council is very much a part of Marshall County's entertainment scene, with monthly art and quilt exhibits at their gallery at 440 Gunter Avenue along with a host of special events.Â
In August, the art gallery will feature tattoo art in photos and with an online Art Talk with area tattoo artists. Quilts will have a summer vacation theme.
September will feature MVAC members’ favorite art with a reception September 13, and B. B. Hudspeth will be the guest speaker for the Art Talk on September 18.
October will feature art from different cultures who make up our community, and Thanh Boyer will be the Art Talk speaker. She is a Vietnamese boat person and a noted author and speaker.
November and December will feature the annual Holiday Art Market featuring artisans’ work that make great Christmas presents.
Art workshops will be interspersed throughout the fall.
Concerts in the Park will happen on Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 from September 22 through the end of October. A special holiday concert is also being planned for right before the Guntersville Christmas Parade.
