Ms. Senior Marshall County

Donna Fries Long of Grant is the new Ms. Senior Marshall County.

Donna Fries Long of Grant is the newly appointed Ms. Senior Marshall County, winning 2nd runner up in the Ms. Senior Alabama pageant.

Donna competed against 15 other contestants from all over the state and came in as the highest ranking from Marshall County and will represent the pageant for the next year.

There was no local preliminary pageant this year and the counties agreed to combine their efforts on one large state pageant which was held on July 13th in Birmingham.

“It’s hard to believe this beautiful woman turns 70 this week. We encourage any women over the age of 60 to consider spicing up their life with a fun pageant and proving you’re never too old.” said Dawn Hagstrom, State Pageant Training Director.

Mrs. Long is new to Marshall County and said she “entered the pageant to make new friends and get out of the house a little more”.

Donna moved to the Huntsville area in 2012 from the Florida Panhandle where she was a realtor and broker for over 33 years. With a background in modeling and TV commercials, she hosted an award-winning live talk radio show “Cruzin with Donna” for 5 years, focused on real estate.

She also hosted a Google live on-air show call “Remodel or Move” and was a consistent multi-million dollar producer in Florida. Donna has numerous years of experience with the Panama City Beach Economic Development Council and Chamber of Commerce.

After moving to the Huntsville area, she met the love of her life Chet and they moved to Grant a couple of years ago to be by beautiful Lake Guntersville, where they live with their dog Charlie.

She is currently the President of her homeowners association and is a new board member of the Marshall County Red Cross. She is looking for ways to get “more involved” in the community.

When Mrs. Long was younger she was a model, singer and self taught guitar player. She completed makeup artist school for Revlon, Clinique and Estee Lauder and was thrilled to have a chance to re-live her younger years with the state pageant. She encourages women to consider the experience.

If you would like to participate in the pageant for ladies 60 and up, please contact Dawn Hagstrom at 256-738-5886 or Please visit our Facebook page at Ms. Senior Marshall County Pageant or Ms. Senior Alabama, Inc. for more details.
