Marshall Masonic Lodge 209 of Guntersville will host their first ever Beans, Greens & Bluegrass festival May 16 at Civitan Park. Tickets are on sale now.
They’re hoping it’s successful enough to become an annual event. It’s already grown far beyond what they first envisioned.
Rhonda Vincent will be the headline act.
“She is the queen of bluegrass,” said David Caldwell of the Masons, who is helping plan the event. “Guntersville has had a lot of things over the years. We’ve never had a bluegrass festival.”
He said it’s drawing attention from around the Southeast and they’re already selling tickets to out-of-state fans. They’re hoping to draw 3,000 to 5,000 visitors.
Tickets are $20 and are available on eventbrite.com.
Rhonda Vincent has had a No. 1 CD on the bluegrass charts and has been nominated for Grammy awards.
