Family Savings Credit Union announced last week that it will be opening an in-store branch at the new Food City location in Albertville. The new 500-square-foot credit union office will be open extended hours and will include a small meeting area for opening accounts, getting loans or mortgages, and a 24/7 automated teller machine (ATM).

The new Family Savings branch in Food City will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m to 2 p.m. Saturday. The branch will include two tellers and an officer or manager on staff at the store most of the time. Members may conduct over-the-counter transactions, open new accounts, apply for loans and more.

Danny Varnon, President/CEO for Family Savings CU commented, "This opportunity to work with Food City has allowed us to go into areas that might not warrant a full-scale branch but where we can serve our members, and hopefully pick up more members, with the convenience of an in-store branch. Members love the convenience of being able to do their grocery shopping and easily get their cash, a loan or open an account at the same place.”

The new Food City is slated to open this spring.
