The number one seed DAR Patriots hosted number two seed New Hope in the Class 4A Area 14 tournament championship game last Saturday.

DAR had swept the season series, but the Indians built a big first half lead and then held on in the closing minutes to upset the Patriots 53-46 for the area title. New Hope led 18-12 at the end of the opening quarter and extended the lead to 33-20 at the half. The Indians held a 43-34 advantage going to the 4th.

DAR chipped away and pulled to within two late, but New Hope secured the win at the free throw line down the stretch. Major Walker led the Patriots with 13 points.

Both teams advanced to the Class 4A Northeast Sub-regional round scheduled for Tuesday, February 16. DAR was to travel to Westminster Christian Academy and New Hope was to host Randolph.
