The DAR varsity girls went 1-1 in the Boaz Thanksgiving Tournament last week. The Lady Patriots fell 61-32 to the Fort Payne Wildcats before rebounding with a 66-51 win over the Columbia Eagles.

DAR 32, Ft. Payne 61

DAR trailed Ft. Payne 15-10 after the opening quarter before the Wildcats started pulling away in the 2nd quarter to take a 34-14 lead at the half.

Ft. Payne’s lead expanded to 58-21 after three quarters of play.

Tori Nickell led the Patriots with 11 points followed Kassidy Allen with 8.

DAR 66, Columbia 51

The Lady Patriots got the win against Columbia despite a sloppy 1st half.

DAR led 12-10 after the opening quarter and held a slim 21-20 lead at the half. The Patriots’ offense got rolling in the 2nd half outscoring the Eagles 45-31 over the final two quarters. DAR led 43-33 after three quarters.

The Patriots placed three players in double figures with Kassidy Allen leading the way with 24 points. Niah Stegeman added 18 and Brianna Bolt 10. Stegeman also pulled down 13 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
