Bakers Chapel Baptist Women had their annual Christmas luncheon at the Cracker Barrel on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Those who attended were Kay Anderton, Dulcie Walls, Frances Wrenn, Violet Heath, Carolyn Cook, Carol Martin, Rita Graham, Louis Beard, Becky Whitaker and Betty Ratchford.
Carolyn Cook is having surgery on a foot soon and Myranda Pegues is preparing for hip replacement.
Catherine Cameron’s great-niece, Carmen Potter, of Savannah, Georgia, died on November 27. Her funeral was at Rudder Funeral Home of Scottsboro, Alabama. She was the only child of Clarence and Glenda Potter of Huntsville, formerly of Scottsboro. Carmen was only 51 years old. Clara Clark, of Bakers Chapel Lane is also, a great-aunt.
Leon McCoy is still suffering after his bout with pneumonia. Nancy McCoy is still under the doctor’s care. Leon and Nancy had a 61st wedding anniversary on December 1st.
Kate Stewart is still not well.
Violet Heath had a visit from her great-grandson, Tristan Nessell, and his girlfriend of Columbus, Mississippi.
Barfield Health Care’s new patients are Clara Jean Shelton, Nellie Stafford and Doris Strange.
Catherine Cameron has a compound fracture in the lumbar curve in her back. The doctors will do a procedure with cement, called a kyphoplasty.
Barfield Health Care is encouraging their residents to decorate the doors of their rooms for Christmas. Certain criteria must be met. They also ask if anyone is having a family gathering, they must let Barfeild know ahead of time.
