Joy Horton celebrated her birthday on October 2. She had a birthday cake at church that she shared with everyone. When she arrived home, some of her family members visited and brought another birthday cake. Family members were son Matthew, Gail and Conner Horton; granddaughter Brooke Horton and son Julian aged 10 months. Julian’s dad also came from Washington, Illinois.
Violet Heath’s son Billy Heath and his wife Kay visited from Columbus, Mississippi. They attended church service with her.
Bakers Chapel Baptist Women met on Tuesday for their monthly missionary meeting. Those present were Joyce Colkmeir, Carolyn Cook, Beth Hilliard, Kay Anderton, Violet Heath, Frances Wrenn, Rita Graham and Betty Ratchford.

Barfield Health Care is having a Halloween party on Oct. 31 at 1:30 p.m. They encourage all residents to dress up and join the fun. They are also having a fall festival on Oct. 19 from 12 p.m until 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale.
Bakers Chapel Baptist Church is having a fall festival on Oct. 30 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The water meter reader stopped and told me, I had a water leak. A plumber found the leak under the floor, where a pipe had burst and was spouting water everywhere. My home insurance people have sent a crew of people to repair the problem. Two bedrooms, a bathroom and a hall had damaged floors.
Barfield Health Care is proud to wear PINK on Wednesday, Oct. 9, to support National Breast Cancer Awareness month. They ask that we all wear pink and support the fight against Breast Cancer.
