When I was first hired as the principal at Guntersville High School, I shared a quote that has quickly become a valuable slogan for me in terms of my job and my life. The quote was used as an email tagline from Mrs. Tamara Rowell, a teacher at Geraldine High School. It simply states, "To be flexible is to never be bent out of shape." Flexibility is key to making sure that goals and outcomes stay the focus while not getting bogged down in the minutiae of how we reach those goals.

As Guntersville High School gets ready to welcome back students on Friday for the 2022-23 school year, all of the stakeholders involved with our school must be ready to exhibit flexibility in order for our school year to be successful. One of the most important areas of flexibility that is needed early in the school year is our transportation and parking situation. Let me give you a quick rundown of how we will operate on Friday, August 5, and please note this might change by Monday as we see how everything flows during the beginning and end of the school day. School starts at 7:40 a.m. on Friday and ends at 3:10 p.m.
