LCCO

The deadline to apply for the Lakeview Community Civic Organization 2020 Scholarship has been extended to May 31. That will give us plenty of time to make the awards and get the money to the schools before college classes resume in the fall. If a person wants an application, he or she can contact LCCO at 256-673-2721 or they can message us on Facebook or email us at Lakeviewcivic1@gmail.com

I found this on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try. It's so yummy, and it's not too high in calories.

Strawberry & Peach

Wine Slushies

You will need:

1 1/2 cups of frozen peaches

1 1/2 cups of frozen strawberries

2 cups of your favorite wine (I used a raspberry wine but you can use a more neutral flavor if you desire)

1 cup of ice

1 oz simple syrup (I use a sugar-free syrup so just know that it works too)

Directions:

Toss all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until slushy. Pour into glasses, drink up and enjoy!

I garnished mine with wine-soaked strawberries, peaches, and raspberries. To create these simply allow the fruit to soak in a wine bath several hours (until the alcohol is absorbed into the fruit) or overnight.
