Millie and Thomas Carroll visited son Nathan and Bethany Carroll in Tyler, Texas.
Jarrod Bryant was home recently from Edwards, Mississippi. He had four days off and enjoyed being home seeing family, friends and he even had some time for fishing.
Faye Smith and son Chris celebrated birthdays on June 15.
Jade Holder graduated from Albertville High School. Congratulations, Jade.
The Regans have just returned from an “Elvis” vacation. Ann and Harold Regan, Melanie, Denny, Braxton, and Kenna Strange went to Tupelo, Miss., and the birthplace of Elvis. They toured his birthplace and saw other sites. Leaving Tupelo, they were bound for Memphis to tour “Graceland,” the home of Elvis.
Stacey, Matthew and Jacob Swords from Kansas City, Kansas, were here for a couple of weeks visiting grandparents Pat and Howard Arledge and Carl and Diane Lamons. While here, Kristi St. Louis planned a trip to Atlanta, Ga to see the Atlanta Braves play the Padres. Attending the game were Pat and Howard Arledge, Kristi St. Louis, Sydney, Nicklaus Hester, Ken Williams, Stacey, Matthew, Jacob Swords. They had a great time even if the Braves lost. Pat Arledge said she could check this off her bucket list.
Pat and Howard are avid Braves fan. Upon returning to Kansas City, Jacob Swords went on a bus trip to Canada to help with his church summer jobs.
Phillip, Beth, Katy and Andy Todd, Chynette Bandy and daughter Aubrey, Ben and Rachel Todd and son Carson, and Matthew Pankey vacationed in Cates San Blas, Fla. The Florida vacation is an annual family event but some members didn’t get to go. Katy came from Houston for the trip. She is near completing her contract with Children’s Hospital in Houston. John Clark Todd, nephew of Phillip and Beth, will be here for the summer. He will be working for Phillip. John Clarke is from Quality, Kentucky.
Patsy Walley, Greta Prince, Tommy Townson and JoAnn Buck went to the wedding of Jay Raines and Jeannie Webb in Marietta, Ga. The reception was at the Atlanta Country Club.
Sherry and Erika Richards, Alan and Rachel Lambert and Sarah Duvall went to Dex Richards’ graduation from THE University Montana Tech, Butte, Montana. Dex is working with Marathon Oil as a petroleum engineer. After graduation, Dex was home for a few days and Erika took a few days off work in Auburn and surprised their mother, Sherry, with a bedroom and bath makeover. She has hardwood floors. This surprise could only happen while Sherry and friend Gretchen Nunnally went to a wedding in Central Park, New York City. While there the two did some sightseeing as time permitted.
David, Greta, Taylor and Derick Prince went to the wedding of Mallory Lashley and Brook Johns at Gulf Shores. It was an evening beach wedding. Taylor was part of the wedding party.
Triston Nessel, great- grandson of Violet Heath, graduated from high school in Columbus, Miss. Triston received a scholarship to the University of Alabama. Those from here attending his graduation were Violet Heath, Becky, Wayne and Andy Whitaker, Cindy Clark and Ossie Reid. Triston and friends went to Fort Walton Beach for their graduation trip.
Rod and Charlotte Bryant and Chad and Jamie Bryant vacationed at Gulf Shores.
Joyce Roden of Crossville, the mother of Linda and Bro. Joe Davis, is improving at home after having surgery and therapy. Bro. Joe is the pastor of the Alder Springs Independent Presbyterian Church.
Faye Todd was in the hospital for a few days and is home now.
Eron Smith Mark celebrated her 95th birthday on April 27. I am sorry to report that one of our community’s oldest residents, Mrs. Mark passed away on June 10. Her daughters are Lynda Madden of Guntersville, Carlene Gillian, Mary Hope of Boaz and Donna Moore of Athens.
Danny Cook of our community passed away on May 29 after an illness of 8 months. Danny is the husband of Susan Todd Cook. Our thoughts and prayers are with these families.
