Caroline Mauldin, daughter of Eric and Emily Mauldin, celebrated her first birthday with a big party at their home in Arab. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins from our community attended. Cousins Erica Richards of Auburn and Dex Richards of Montana were home at that time and attended the party.
Patsy Walley and Greta Prince were in a group that went to the Cottontail Village Arts and Crafts show at the Birmingham Civic Center.
Eron Mark, one of our senior citizens, is out of the hospital and therapy. If you would like to send her a card, I’m sure she would appreciate it. Her address is P.O. Box 553, Albertville, Ala. 35950.
Eric Mauldin is now a pharmacist with Albertville Discount Drug.
Ken and Joyce Wilson have returned home from Naples, Fla. They wintered in Florida.
Karen Davidson is home after staying with her mother during her illness.
Margaret Chappetta of Slidell, La., passed away in March. Greta and David Prince went down for the funeral.
Rick League, husband of Patti Smart League, passed away the last of March. Rick had been in bad health for several years.
Doris and Bill Corbin from Gun Barrel, Texas, visited Patsy and Edgar Ballew for a few days the first of April. Patsy and Edgar planned several things to do. Their first day here the 4 of them plus Gaylon and Carolyn Chaffin of Arab went to a Chinese restaurant in Gadsden and to Noccalula Falls. While at the falls the park announced a thunderstorm warning, and they had to cut their trip short. Next day they went to the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament, in Hanceville, Ala. They met friends at All Steak in Cullman for lunch. Getting back to Guntersville, their day ended with a mid-afternoon cruise on Guntersville Lake. They went to the “Bat Cave” and Guntersville Dam. The next day was used for sightseeing. They drove all around Guntersville to the State Park and surrounding areas.
Edgar and Patsy Ballew and Gaylon and Carolyn Chaffin went to the “Fabulous 50” musical in Fayetteville, Tenn.
