Claysville Blessings in a Backpack will begin packing bags of food next week for Claysville students.

The program provides easy-to-fix foods for kids who might need it on the weekends.

Blessings Claysville’s first pack will be Thursday, Sept. 6, at 5:30 p.m. at Henryville United Methodist Church’s fellowship hall. They will pack at that time every Thursday night in September, said Marie Lewter of the Blessings Claysville organization.

They need volunteers to attend and help with the pack. They will pack for 100 students this year.

Financial donations to support the program are also welcome. They can be mailed to Henryville United Methodist Church – Blessings in a Backpack, 22520 U.S. Highway 431, Guntersville, AL 35976. You can call the church at 256-582-2734.
