Deborah Moore's family enjoyed an Easter meal at the home of her daughter, Ann Marie & John Barnes at Grant. Those present besides Deborah, Ann Marie, and John were Van Moore, wife, Manila, Savanah Smith & husband Britton, and Brenton Meeks and his wife Kaylee.
I called my old-time friend Nila Clines recently to tell her I was sorry about the loss of her son, James Clines, age 59, on April 9, 2023.
Frances Wren attended her granddaughter Amelia Wren's pole-vaulting at the new track at Grant. Amelia did her best on that day.
While reading a library book concerning the sinking of the TITANIC and the tragic loss of so many lives, I remembered my Mom. The Titanic sank on her birthday, April 14, 1912. Mom was only 6 years old. I don't know how they got the news so many years ago, but they did. Frances Wren's only sibling celebrates his birthday on April 14 and is still living. My mom passed away 18 years ago at 98.
My daughter, Gail, who has a bad case of FMS, (fraid to miss something) was on a trip when she heard that the church where she works in Mobile was broken into. She is one of the 5 secretaries at the church and hers is the first office by the entrance. The outside door of the church was not locked, but the inner door was locked. A crazy man broke the locked door down. One of the personnel called 911.
The police were there in a few moments. One of the ministers was beaten, but not badly. Gail praises God for allowing her to be away at the time.
I was advised by my doctor to get a shingles injection, so I did. But, oh how I regret it. By 7 p.m. that night, I was so sick and burning up with fever and chills. I don't blame the doctor. We didn't know I would react in such a way. After 3 days & 3 nights, I am still weak. They tell me that shingles are much worse. I surely hope no one gets them.
