Bakers Chapel Baptist Church had a Valentine luncheon on February 12. Many folks were able to enjoy the food and fellowship. Bakers Chapel Baptist Women met on February 14 for their monthly meeting. Those present were Joyce Colkmire, Bessie Law, Kay Anderton, Carolyn Cook, Catherine Cameron, Dorit Campbell, Jacee White, Delores Moore, Carol Martin, Frances Wrenn, Betty Ratchford, Rita Graham, Louise Beard, Beth Hilliard and Marty Richardson.
Delores Moore and Jacee White joined with the Ukesters and played and sang for the Senior Center of Arab on Valentine's Day. The Church of Christ members served breakfast. The Ukesters had about 20 members that day. The Ukesters played and sang at Gilliam Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday.
Cindy King Carr, a retired school teacher, had lunch with some fellow teacher retirees.
The Henryville Methodist Church Springers rescheduled their trip to the Hydroponic Gardens at Owens Cross Roads because of bad weather.
Martha Bevill Daniel, a former resident of Lewis Mountain, lost her husband, Elwood, who died of cancer on February 10.
Chris Parker (Jock Christopher) of Marina Road, after being ill for several months, died on February 13. His visitation was on Thursday night from 6-8 p.m. at Guntersville Memorial Chapel. He was buried at New Prospect Cemetery at Grant after funeral services on Friday.
Talan Gurley and his cheerleading team from DAR High School attended the cheerleaders competition in Orlando, Florida. They won 17th in the nation. Congratulations, team!!!!
