Mile Plus Yard Sale

The Grant Mile Plus Yard Sale will be Saturday, September 25. It starts at 6:30 a.m. Make plans now to participate as a vendor in this year’s event. Spaces are available for $30. For more information, contact the Grant Chamber of Commerce at 256-728-8800.

Library News

The Grant Library is closed September 23.

Due to the current health situation preschool story time will not resume in September as planned. They hope to be able to resume in October.

Vicki said to be sure to visit the library’s website and subscribe to the monthly email letter.

The library will be having a hugw book sale in September. On Friday the 24th, the sale will be open from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. On Saturday the 25th, the sale will be open until 12 noon.

Home Activities

Go to the Grant Library web page under Online Resources, then Family Fun for some fun activities with your young children. One of the activities is creating an Ocean in the Bottle alone with a science lesson. Also how to create a Family Story Book with printable pages and creating a paper lantern for the holidays.

Electronic Resources

In an effort to better serve our community, Grant Public Library is providing electronic resources for our library patrons. This includes access to eBooks, movies, TV episodes, music, audiobooks, comic books, and graphic novels. In order to access these services patrons must have a valid and current library card. for more information, visit the library.

Alabama Virtual Library

Users anywhere in the state of Alabama can select resources by category, grade level (from elementary to adult), or from a general list. Resources include: Consumer databases such as Gale Legal Forms, research databases like Explora. educational resources such as TeachingBooks & PebbleGo, e-books such as Capstone eBooks, and online encyclopedias. Alabama Virtual Library is provided FREE to all Alabamians by the Alabama Public Library Service. Call or stop by the Grant Library to learn more.
