3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

The Sixth Annual Guntersville 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is in the books. On Saturday, August 3, approximately fifty players along with numerous tournament sponsors, friends, and family assembled at Williamson-Harris Park to watch teams battle for the tournament championship.

At the end of the event, the Lakeview Community Civic Organization served free hot dogs and hamburgers to all in attendance. Trent Hundley, one of the sponsors, stated, "We would like to see more people involved. We are open to new ideas and working with other people"

Another sponsor of the event, Simone May, added, "We love our community and enjoy giving back in this way. With the continued support of our sponsors and community members, we plan to do more."

Tournament champions were as follows:

12-15 yrs old bracket: Deon Kirkland, Gauis Spurgeon, Andrea Kirkland, and Kason.

18+ yrs old bracket: CJ Williamson, Jalon Stewart, and Major Henderson

Livingston Chapel

Livingston Chapel A.M.E. Church will hold its Rainbow Tea will follow the morning worship service on Sunday, August 12.

St. Minor

The St. Minor Primitive Baptist Church Clothing Pantry has a new selection of spring and summer clothing in all sizes: shoes, sandals, purses, capris, and more. All are welcome, and all items are free. It is open on Mondays from 12-5.
