The Guntersville Public library kicked off its summer reading program Wednesday with a magic show put on by Huntsville magician Russell Davis. Kids and their families flocked to the library's auditorium to watch Davis perform various magic tricks involving cards, coins, and even a picture of the moon to coincide with the summer reading program theme of "A Universe of Stories."

Davis demonstrated various feats of magic to the delight of his young audience, and explained that many of his tricks he learned from books, and that through reading they can learn to do many of them themselves.

It was a packed house for the kickoff, with more than 200 in attendance.
