Buddy Keeton passed away July 25. He and his wife Carolyn had a home in Albertville and a lake home at Mtn. Lakes Resort.
The Redeemed Team Gospel singing group was at Langston UMC Church Sunday night. They furnished a spaghetti supper, then sang. They are from Blount County.
Charles Pinkerton has been in Huntsville Hospital.
The Lilies of the Valley met at Mud Creek Restaurant Thursday, July 27.Those attending were Anne Van Meter, Roberta Stout, Bonnie Cabanis, Phyllis Baker, Suzanne Baker, Patsy Ingle, Myrna Beafore, Tillie White and Jean Cooper. The devotion was given by Roberta Stout. The next meeting will be at 50 Taters in Scottsboro.
On July 26, Paulette Smith and family attended the funeral of her brother, Chief Warrent Officer 3 Perry Lee Jackson, at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia. He served two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star along with many other awards. The service with full military honors was beautiful and overwhelming, she said.
“On the bus they gave us all poppies in honor of our veterans,” Smith said. “I am grateful for my brother’s service to our country and to all the men and women who have given their all. God Bless America.”
