Teacher Feature

By Hannah Wildhagen and Claire Nelson

This week's spotlight falls on Mrs. York, with a few questions and answers to let our readers get to know her:

Q: Where did you go to college?

A: The University of Alabama. Roll Tide.

Q: How long have you been teaching?

A: This is my 7th year in a secondary classroom.

Q: Did you always want to be a teacher? f not what did you want to be?

A: Yes! But I THOUGHT I wanted to teach Kindergarten. After substituting one time for a kindergarten class, I discovered that was not for me. After changing my major a few times in college, I finally ended up in science education and love it!

Q: What is the best part of your job?

A: The students' personalities. Y'all are awesome! (Most of the time, haha!)

Q: Do you have anything you would like to say to the student body?

A: Never give up. You CAN do this!
