Raygan Edmondson

Raygan Edmondson scored 23 points for Douglas against Boaz, helping the Eagles secure home court advantage in the coming area tournament.

The Douglas varsity boys basketball team had a big win Tuesday night over the Boaz Pirates.

The eagles started off good on offense but defense was a little slow in the beginning.

After three quarters, the Pirates had a one point lead but the Eagles came up big in the fourth led by Raygan Edmondson who had 11 points in the 4th alone to lead the Eagles to a 61-48.

Raygan finished with 23 on the night followed by Yael Lucas who had 14. With this win, the Eagles have secured home court advantage for the Class 5A Area 13 tournament.

Douglas played Crossville Friday after we'd gone to press. Douglas won their first meeting and a win Friday would let the Eagles finish undefeated in area play for the year.
