Holly Debord, 37, of Guntersville, was sentenced to 99 years in prison Tuesday afternoon for her role in the sexual assault of a man she and co-defendant Van Havis accused of “snitching” on them to police concerning drugs. She pled guilty in July to sodomy, sexual torture and bestiality in a case prosecutors and judge alike called the most disturbing thing they’d ever seen. Judge Chris Abel handed down the maximum sentence in the case. Sentencing for Havis is Wednesday and he is expected to get life with the possibility of parole. Generally speaking, defendants serving 99 years or life must serve at least 15 years before being considered for parole. More details will be in Saturday's Advertiser-Gleam.
