A Guntersville man was killed in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 79-N last Thursday afternoon.

According to State Trooper spokesman Curtis Summerville Dakota Keith Moore, 26, of Guntersville, was killed when the 2000 Toyota Echo he was driving struck a 2013 Ford F-450.

Moore, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford truck was not injured.

The crash occurred at 4:15 p.m. on Highway 79 at the 76 mile marker six miles north of Guntersville.

ALEA Troopers continue to investigate the crash.

Highway 79-N, also sometimes referred to as the Scottsboro Highway, was closed for quite some time as first responders dealt with the wreck.
