On October 11, 2022 at 9:03 p.m., the Albertville Police Department received a report of a weapon-related assault on Carlin Street within the city limits of Albertville.
Officers responded and found a male victim, Roy Errol Patterson Jr., 38-years-old of Albertville, who had been shot in the torso with an arrow from a crossbow. Patterson was treated on scene by Albertville Fire & Rescue personnel and was later airlifted to Huntsville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Albertville Police detectives responded to the scene to assist patrol officers with the investigation. Detectives determined that the victim was shot by another adult male roommate during the course of an argument.
Caleb Matthew Spurlin, 32-years old of Albertville, was determined to be the perpetrator of the assault and was arrested on scene, Albertville Police said. Spurlin has been formally charged with attempted murder and is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
