The Downtown Association said this about the event:

On Saturday May 15, a new and exciting event will take place in Historic Downtown Arab. Maker’s Market on Main is an artisan market, promoting local artists, crafts people, producers, designers and growers.

The Arab Downtown Association invites creators and producers to apply to participate.

“We are very excited about this event,” said Dawn Sparks, member of the Association, “The streets will be filled with vendors selling their own creations, products they’ve grown or made.”

In addition to visiting the tents filled with makers’ and creators’ wares, visitors can watch demonstrations by artisans, participate in several community art projects, enjoy live music and entertainment, and visit a variety of quaint shops throughout Downtown.

“You can’t have an event without food,” said Sparks, “and there will be plenty. We’re expecting baked goods and treats and visitors can visit the Downtown cafes and diners. There will also be a row of food trucks along 1st Street NW.”

Applications are available on the Association’s website,, or you may request an application by email or phone: or 256-200-5270.
