It was a tough road game at Scottsboro Friday night for Guntersville.

"It is always tough to win on the road, and we came up short at Scottsboro," Coach Russell Carr. "We fought hard throughout the game but could not get over the hump. We started slow and finished the 1st quarter down 11-17. We won the 2nd quarter, and tied the 3rd and 4th. It was a tough game for us however it just means we have to work that much harder to get ourselves back ahead with two area games left to play and leading into the county tournament.

"I have a lot of faith in this team and their willingness to do what it takes to play championship basketball. They are championship kids, so it will not be a struggle to play championship basketball."

Scottsboro won the contest 59-55.

For Guntersville, Logan Bonds scored 19 points, Davis Hawk 14 points and Josh Perry 10 points

Guntersville is 10-7 overall, 1-3 area play.
