A 2018 graduate of Guntersville High School and a talented artist, Belinda Jensen-Marise died June 9, 2019, just days shy of her 19th birthday.
A memorial service will be Sunday, June 30, at 2 p.m. at the Guntersville Public Library.
She was a student at Nossi College of Art in Nashville and was getting ready to return home.
Art was her passion, according to her family. As a student at Guntersville High School, she won many awards in art. She won 2nd place in photography in the Congressional Art Show in 2018. She received the President’s Award in the scholastic competition at Art on the Lake in 2017.
She was well-known to Guntersville Public Library patrons as she worked there during high school. “It was her favorite place to be when she was not out drawing or taking pictures,” her mother Rhonda Marise said.
The Guntersville Library hosted a Harry Potter-themed costume party in 2017. Belinda won it with her Bellatrix Lastrange outfit.
“Most of all, she just loved having fun,” her mother said. “She loved life. She was a very caring person who always tried to help other people.”
