Hwy 55 Burgers

Hwy 55 Burgers will soon be coming to Boaz, the city announced this week.

A new burger place is coming to Boaz, the city announced this week.

Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries will be located at 1117 U.S. 431 and it will open in late 2022. The new location will employ around 70 new team members.

Since 1991, Hwy 55 has been cooking up the best burgers and premium sliced cheesesteaks in its communities, the company said in a statement. The company's tenet is "Love your Neighbor."

"We believe that if we show love and kindness towards one another and each of our guests, we can change the world, one great meal at a time," said Hwy 55 president Kenney Moore. “I founded Hwy 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries 30 years ago, to provide something that I felt was missing: great food, friendly service and honest value,” said Moore, who flipped every burger himself for the brand’s first two years of business. “Those principles continue today at all of our restaurants and we will look forward to treating more people in Boaz and other areas in the great state of Alabama in the coming years.”

Hwy 55 currently has 110 locations across the country, sprawling over a dozen states primarily in the South.

Hwy 55 will operate out of a 2490-square foot restaurant with a double drive-thru, built in retro mid-century style.

“Highway 55 is a great restaurant concept that has been looking to expand in North Alabama," said Jeff Sommer, Portfolio Director – Retail Strategies. "Boaz is a growing market so we are confident they will do well. The city has been actively working to recruit more national brands to the area so we are glad to be a partner in that process. Great win for the City of Boaz!”

“The City of Boaz welcomes Highway 55 Burgers and Fries," said David Dyar, Mayor of Boaz. "We are excited about being home to their next location. Highway 55 will be a great addition to the community and we look forward to a successful partnership for years to come.”
