The first phase of Wes Long’s River Rocks Plantation development on Wyeth Drive is built out and he’s starting on the second phase.
“We’ve had a bunch of new people move in from Birmingham, Chattanooga and Huntsville,” Long said.
The first phase, which fronts on Wyeth Drive, consisted of 12 lots. The second phase will be 21 lots. In all, there are 77 lots in the development that Long hopes to build homes on in the next several years.
“We’re looking at building 10 to 15 homes per year,” he said.
A swimming pool was added recently and should be complete in the next 3 weeks. A “gathering house” or clubhouse will be added soon with an outdoor pavilion, a fire place and a caterer’s kitchen.
The second phase of construction will be very similar to the first phase as far as colors and hardy plank construction.
“Our market takes a little longer to develop than some of the bigger cities,” Long said. “We don’t have the saturation. But we’re making a little profit and making the city better.”
