Southern Brewers

Southern Brewers Cooperative was announced this week as the first tenant for the City Harbor. It features 5 different Alabama brew labels under one roof.

Southern Brewers Cooperative – a consortium of 5 different brew labels – was announced this week as the first tenant for the City Harbor project being developed by Patrick Lawler

The 5 labels under one roof will include Straight to Ale, Druid City Brewing Company, Salty Nut Brewery, Good People and Avondale.

“It’s a new concept, 5 brands under one roof,” Lawler said. “They’re doing one at City Harbor and one at Stovehouse in Huntsville.”

The City Harbor location plans to open in March of 2021, which means you’ll see a lot of construction taking place on the silo site shortly.

It won’t just be brews, though. There will be food as well.

“It’s an incredible menu,” Lawler said. “Anyone who has eaten at Straight to Ale will recognize the menu.”

The brew pub proper will be a 6,000 foot facility. It will also have a 70x30 outdoor dining space.

Lawler said he thinks his company will be finished with the construction before March.

He said they are close to being able to announce more tenants and they are in negotiations with still others.

“We’re not ready to announce, but it’s pretty exciting stuff,” Lawler said.
