Pilgrims, which has a large poultry processing plant in Guntersville's East Lake area, recently announced that it would be investing $690,000 in the Guntersville community.

A community spokesman said they welcome input from the citizens of Guntersville on how those funds should be distributed.

“Decisions are still being made on how the funds will be distributed but no projects have been finalized to date. All funds will be allocated by the end of the year and we’ll share details when they’re available,” the company said in a statement.

Pilgrim’s is encouraging community members to share ideas on how to spend these funds in the community by sending suggested proposals for investment to hometownstrong@pilgrims.com.
