The Marshall County Commission will hold its work session on Wednesday, Aug. 14. On the agenda are several items including the proposed car tag fee for school resource officers for Marshall County Schools.

Other items on the agenda issued by the chairman's office include:

The approval of a preliminary plat for Cumberlind Estates Subdivision in District 1.

The approval of the ADECA grant for the sheriff's office.As for the jail, they will discuss the solicitation of a bid for replacement safety and security system.

Maintenance will discuss approval of a generator maintenance contract with Current Electric for 3 generators valued at $2,890 and will be effective Oct. 1.

The coroner has two items for discussion on the agenda. One is to apply for a grant to purchase radios valued at $41,824 with no match. The second is to add 2 additional deputy coroners in the amount of $1,300 per deputy.

The Council on Aging has three items up for discussion. These include the approval of nutrition contacts for the fiscal year 2020 with no match, approval of business association agreement for fiscal year 2020 no match and approval of the Senior RX contacts for fiscal year 2020.  

The Commission will discuss the selection of an architect for the animal control shelter to be paid from capital improvement funds, the nomination to ACCA legislative committee and the approval of nationwide retirement employee option change along with the sell, trade, or scrap of fixed assets.
