Dan Smith

Daniel Smith

Daniel Browning Smith of Albertville died Monday, June 10, 2019. He was 60.

He was the son of William Clay Smith and Elizabeth Lee Browning.

Before moving here 5 years ago, he lived in Deer Park, Texas. That's where he met Linda Hampton of Sand Mountain.

He was in the Army and stationed in Germany when he was younger. His main occupation was driving trucks. He also did mechanic work, installation of satellite dishes and at one time was in union as an electrician.

He worked for B&B Farms out of Huntsville before he was diagnosed with lung cancer.

His hobbies were fishing, hiking and being in the outdoors. He never met a stranger and liked to help people in need.

He will be deeply missed by his special girl, Linda Hampton.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Billy Smith of Westcliffe, Colorado, and Robert Smith of San Leon, Texas; a sister, Silvia Capuch of California; 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Smith of Deer Park, Texas.

His last request was to be cremated and his ashes scattered over the lake. The family will do that in a private memorial service at a later date.
