Will Bailey

Will Bailey holds a jersey from Bluefield College, where he will play college football. He threw for 7,000 career yards at DAR and rushed for another 2,500.

DAR High graduating quarterback Will Bailey threw for over 7,000 yards in his high school career.

He will now continue playing football at the collegiate level. He recently signed a scholarship to play at Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia.

“Bluefield is a beautiful town that straddles the West Virginia-Virginia border,” Will’s father Bill Bailey said. “It’s surrounded by mountains. Will saw it and just loved it.”

DAR coach Joel Poole said he’s pleased that Will is going to get to continue playing at the collegiate level.

“He had about 4 offers,” Poole said. “Kentucky Christian offered. Peru University in Nebraska offered. There were one or 2 more NAIA schools that offered.”

Poole said Bluefield has some solid receivers but they’re in need of a quarterback. They just might have found the right man in Bailey.

Bailey was 146 of 207 passing in 2018 for 2,565 yards and 29 touchdowns. He rushed 99 times for 889 yards and another 13 touchdowns. For his career at DAR, he threw for over 7,000 yards and rushed for another 2,500.

He is the son of Bill and Chelly Bailey.
