The Guntersville Civitan Club will hold its annual bass tournament Saturday, June 15, from safe light until 2 p.m. out of Goose Pond in Scottsboro. It's a 5-fish limit.

The Civitans built the new bass pavilion at the Johnny Stewart Ramp in Guntersville awhile back. But a member said they can't hold it there because the pier is not deep enough to do a live release of fish.

They're hoping a longer pier can be added later to accommodate bass releases.

The entry fee is $120 per boat, which includes $10 for a big fish pot.

First place pays $2,000, based on a full field of at least 150 boats.

You can register at the ramp the day of the tournament or send your registration to Guntersville Civitan Club, C/O Charles Lawson, 660 9th Street NE, Arab, AL 35016.

For more information, call 256-200-1261.

The Guntersville Civitans support the Civitan International Research Center for research and treatment of development disabilities in children and adults, along with a number of local Guntersville charities.
