Gene Wade

Gene Raymond Wade, 82, of Guntersville, passed away early Thursday morning, July 4, 2019, at his residence.

Gene was a graduate of Trussville High School and retired after many years of service with AT&T and he was a huge Atlanta Braves fan.

Mr. Wade was a volunteer and chief of Nixon Chapel Volunteer Fire Department for over 10 years. But most importantly Gene was a faithful Christian and a member of the Guntersville Church of Christ.

Mr. Wade is survived by his wife, Teeny Barnett Wade; children, Libby Foshee (Steve), Lisa Oliver (Mike) and Melanie Jones (Fred); grandchildren, Joshua Foshee, Caleb Foshee Michael Oliver and Wade Jones; great grandchildren, Alice Wade Oliver, Eleanor James Oliver, Jack Hudson Foshee and Luke Henry Foshee; a brother, Jeffery Lynn Wade; and a sister, Geraldine Carter (Ronald).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Ruby Wade; 2 brothers, Johnny Wade and James Wade; and a sister, Janice Jones.

A graveside service was held Sunday, July 7, at Crestwood Cemetery with Bro. Phillip Bradley and Bro. James Dudley officiating.
