The public will get the opportunity to meet candidates like U.S. Senate hopeful Katie Britt at a large political rally Saturday hosted by the Marshall County Republican Women.

Marshall County Republican Women are hosting a Meet and Greet Your Candidates Rally on Saturday, May 14, from 2-5 p.m. at Guntersville Town Hall. It's for everyone, not just women.

"We want to give Marshall County voters one last opportunity to meet our Republican candidates, shake their hands and voice their concerns and also give the candidates the opportunity to hear from the voters," before the May 24 Primary, according to Melanie Goff, president of the women's group.

Guest speakers will include Lt. Gov. Will Ainsworth, Attorney General Steve Marshall, Sen. Clay Scofield, Rep Wes Kitchens and Alabama GOP Chaiman, John Wahl.

Among the candidates slated to speak are Mo Brooks, Katie Britt and Mike Durant, candidates for U.S. Senate; Lindy Blanchard, Dean Odle and Tim James, candidates for Alabama Governor; Andrew Sorrell, Stan Cook and Rusty Glover, State Auditor; Greg Cook and Judge Debra Jones, Alabama Supreme Court; Marie Manning and Priscilla Yother, State Board of Education; Wes Allen, Ed Packard and Chris Horn, Secretary of State; Annette Holcomb, Brock Colvin and Todd Mitchem, House District 26; Sheriff Phil Sims, re-election; James Hutcheson and Nathan Broadhurst, chairman of County Commission; Joe Jones, Commission District 4; Cindy Wigley, re-election as County Superintendent of Schools; Jennifer Bray, County District Attorney; Stephen McLamb, Alabama Public Service Commission, Place 1; Robin Litaker, Alabama Public Service Commission, Place 2; and Laura B. Byars and Stacey Sorter White, Marshall County Board of Education Place 1.

The Guntersville High School Choir, under the direction of Matt Davenport, will perform.

Food trucks will be on site and the group is giving away an LG 70" TV, with sound bar and 2-year extended warranty and a beautiful handmade patriotic 56" x 76" quilt. Tickets are $5 each and may be obtained at the event or by reaching out to the Marshall County Republican Women on Facebook. 92.7 Radio will be covering the event live.
