The GHS JV boys basketball team had the opportunity to play in the SSBA Courts Christmas Tournament on December 28 and 29. During game one against Fyffe, the team struggled early but found their groove later in the game finishing on a 16-7 run. The 'Cats won 55-48 with Ty Yancy scoring 17 points; EJ Havis and Date Peterson with 13 points each; and Carter Britt with 6 points; and Royce Baucom scoring 2 points.

In game two against Ider, everyone who played scored points and had an overall great performance. The defense was able to clean up some mistakes resulting in a 52-28 win. Ty Yancy led the team with 11 points. Carter Britt scored 10 points, while EJ Havis, Date Peterson and a Noah Fitzgibbons each scored 7 points. Royce Baucom scores 6 points, and Maddox Werkmeister had 4 points.

“I was very pleased with the way our team handled having some time off over the holidays,” said JV Coach Matt Miller.

Unfortunately, game 3 was cancelled due to inclement weather.
