Ida Watkins

The late Ida Moore Watkins was born in Guntersville, Alabama, to the union of the late Lonnie Davis and Nannie Sue Murray Moore. At a very early age she confessed hope in Christ and joined Saint Minor Primitive Baptist Church. At her death, she was the eldest living member of the church at age 84.

She passed Aug. 23, 2019.

Ida worked as a florist for many years. She also worked in the poultry industry for many years She was also a member of the Mizpah Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Alabama Jurisdiction, and P.H.A.

She leaves to cherish many loving memories for her children, Anthony Q. Moore, Birmingham; Deborah S. Kennemer, Guntersville; Paula Y. (Travis) Broughton, Harvest; and Gwendolyn (Anthony) Crumb of Harvest; her grandchildren, Deanne Hardnick, Malius Crumb, MaKiyah Crumb and Miyan Crumb; her great-grand children, Jarron Hardnick, Tre’Sean Montgomery and Tamyra Deberry; two siblingsm Bill (Mary Katherine), and Linda (Ossie) Stanley; and one step-daughter, Cecilia Havis.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday from Saint Minor Primitive Baptist Church, 931 Jordan Street,  Guntersville, with Pastor Mario Ford officiating. Interment will be in the Warrenton Cemetery.

Ida Watkins will be placed in the church one hour prior to funeral time. Nelms Memorial is assisting the family.
