It was a great year for Guntersville's youth football teams.

All 5 of Guntersville's teams made the post-season playoffs this season. That's unprecedented for the Guntersville league.

Two teams fell in the first round and two more fell in the second round. But the A-Team Red will play for the North Alabama championship today (see other story).

The youth football league covers ages 5-12. Many of the boys who play will start as 5 year olds, play all the way through the youth program and then go on to the middle school and high school programs. Jordan Bentley, who now plays at Alabama A&M, is one notable former Guntersville youth football player.

For the most part, fathers of players serve as coaches.

The teams play their home games on the old Marshall County High field next to Guntersville Elementary, now called Alumni Field.
