Our joke of the week comes to us from Grover Williams, who told it at the Airport Breakfast Saturday morning:
A passenger in a taxi heading for the airport leaned over to ask the driver a question and gently tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.
The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, drove up over a curb and stopped inches from a building.
Everything was silent in the cab. Then the driver apologized, but said the passenger had scared the daylights out of him.
“I didn’t realize that tapping you on the shoulder would startle you,” the passenger said.
The driver replied, “No, I’m sorry. It’s my fault. Today is my first day driving a cab. I’ve been driving a hearse for the last 25 years.”
