Josh Manganaris 

Guntersville High School junior soccer player Josh Manganaris was recently nominated by his coaches and selected by a committee to play for the North team in the North-South Alabama All-Star Game in Montgomery on July 17 at 7 p.m. as part of the Alabama All-Star Sports Week.

Manganaris is one of the GHS team captains and helped lead his team to a 16 wins, 7 losses, and 3 ties this season. The Wildcats finished 8-0 in area play and advanced to the second round of the 4A/5A state playoffs.

Manganaris began the season on fire. He scored in each of the first 6 games of the season amassing 9 goals to lead GHS and he was tied for the team lead in assists with 4 when he suffered a severe ankle injury near the end of the sixth game at Indian Springs. He missed the next 11 games and played the remainder of the season at less than 100 percent. Josh finished the season with 11 goals, which was tied for second on the team.
