The DAR Patriots hosted the Arab Knights last Friday in Grant. Each school got a win as Arab defeated DAR in varsity girls action while DAR came out on top in the varsity boys game.
DAR 56, Arab 63
The Lady Patriots fell behind Arab 16-13 after the opening quarter and also trailed 34-28 at the half. DAR kept battling and took the lead 37-36 midway through the 3rd quarter. The Knights regained the lead and had a 47-42 advantage at the end of three quarters. The Patriots were plagued by foul trouble that eventually led to three starters fouling out in the 4th quarter as Arab held on for the seven point win. Kassidy Allen led a balanced scoring attack for DAR with 15 points followed by Ivy Carmack with 11, Niah Stegeman with 10, Tori Nickell with 9 and Brianna Bolt with 7.
DAR 69, Arab 47
The DAR varsity boys defeated the Knights in an exciting, fast-paced game. The Patriots led at all the stops. Quarter scores were 15-14; 33-21 and 40-33. Arab trimmed the deficit in the 3rd quarter before the Patriots outscored the Knights 29-14 in the final quarter to pull away for the win. T.J. Leonard led DAR with 20 points followed by Landen Harbin with 19, Koltyn Harbin with 13 and Nick Hardin with 10.
