To the Advertiser-Gleam:

After seeing Joel Kennamer & Friends' ad in the July 29 edition of the Advertiser-Gleam, I was reminded that when I moved here in September 1979, Edith Hallman told me proudly that Guntersville voted to add a 1% sales tax to help pay for the new Guntersville High School.

Now that the "new" Guntersville High School needs to be replaced, I wonder where that 1% tax for the high school is going?

To the best of my knowledge, that tax has never been repealed. I hope the money is still going to the schools.
