RSVP’s Community Chorus, Ukesters and Dulcimer Group will perform at the Guntersville Museum Festival of Trees on December 8.

The Ukesters under the direction of Jennifer Phillips will perform at 1:30 p.m. The Chorus will perform at 2:00 p.m, under the direction of Mary Jo Evans followed by an audience sing-along of favorite carols. The Dulcimer Group lead by Debbie Roe will round out the afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come sing traditional Christmas songs, view the trees and join in the holiday spirit.

The RSVP Chorus will sing a collection of traditional British, French and German carols and end with the 16th Century English carol, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” The Dulcimer Group will play familiar traditional English, German and French carols, modern day Santa songs and favorites from our Appalachian forefathers. The RSVP Ukesters will play lively versions of familiar Christmas songs and encourage you to sing-along.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will be moving during the holiday season and look forward to seeing you after the first of the year at our new home, 19272 US Hwy 431. Come meet the RSVP staff, tour the facility, learn about volunteering, visit the computer lab and see what adult learning opportunities are available. If you are interested in joining the Chorus, they will take a holiday break and start rehearsing again January 21 at 1:30 p.m. at RSVP with new music. All parts are needed, no audition, just come join the fun.

Want to learn the Ukulele or want to play with a uke group? RSVP Ukesters would like for you to join them Thursday afternoons at 1:00 p.m., starting back after the Christmas break on January 23. The 5-week Beginner Ukulele class will be 5 Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until noon starting January 29. Class fee including book is $40.

A Beginner Dulcimer class will start January 28, as part of a National Endowment for the Arts grant. The 5-week Beginner Dulcimer class will be 5 Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m; starting January 28. Class fee including book is $40.
