A corrections officer with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office has been charged with promoting prison contraband, a misdemeanor. The charges were placed Friday, assistant chief deputy Steve Guthrie said.
Marcus Earl Martin, 25, of Guntersville, had been an employee of the sheriff’s office for approximately 9 months. Martin was found to be bringing tobacco products into the jail for inmates. Martin was booked into the county jail on a $1,000 bond.
