A man and woman were arrested after a police pursuit near Grant.
Sheriff Phil Sims gave this account:
“On Wednesday November 16, 2022, Allen Andrew Brunet III and Brandi Battle were arrested after a pursuit near the Town of Grant and the surrounding area. Marshall County Sheriff’s Investigators and deputies, the Marshall County Drug Task Force, Grant Police Department, Guntersville Police Department, Scottsboro Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office all assisted in taking the couple into custody,” the sheriff said.
“Brunet fled in a vehicle and was able to evade law enforcement,” he said. “ The couple were spotted in the same vehicle a short time later, and attempted to elude a second time. They fled in the vehicle into a wooded area until they could go no further, and then fled on foot. The vehicle was located in the woods, and the couple were found to be hiding in a camper trailer a short distance from where the vehicle was located. They were both arrested and taken into custody without further incident.
“Brunet was arrested on several outstanding warrants for failure to appear and attempting to elude. He was additionally charged with reckless endangerment and attempting to elude. Battle was charged with 2 counts of attempting to elude, and she has additional warrants in another county. Both are expected to face additional charges,” Sheriff Sims said.
