Lend A Hand is a brand new club at Snead State Community College and its members are wanting to get the word out that they are available to help with various service projects.

They came up with a pretty clever way to get the word out. Club members baked 240 cookies. There were a wide variety of cookie types.

They were divided into 32 plates and delivered to various businesses and agencies around town last Friday.

Brenda Sanchez and Emma Cole did the delivering, walking to many of their places even though a drizzling rain had started Friday.

"When someone needs help with a project, we want them to think of Lend A Hand," Emma said. The best way people can get in touch with the club is through its Facebook page, Lend A Hand.

The club has a big Guntersville connection. Three of the 5 officers are Guntersville High grads.

Emma and Brenda are both GHS grads. Emma is the vice-president. Brenda is the secretary.

The other officers are president Jeydi Guzman of Douglas, treasurer Alex Rush of Brindlee Mountain and media specialist Libbi Geoghagen of Guntersville.

They shared a plate of their cookies with The Advertiser-Gleam staff and they were delicious.
