Guntersville Fire and Rescue along with Georgia Mountain Volunteer Fire responded to a fairly serious crash on Warrenton Road Tuesday.
At around 1 p.m., emergency crews responded to a crash involving a large truck at the intersection of Barley Drive and Warrenton Road. According to Guntersville Deputy Fire Chief Brian Walls, the heavy rescue unit was deployed to help at the scene.
“A large Reed Contracting truck had turned over in the middle of the road and spilt a good bit of sand into the road,” he said. “We responded with the heavy rescue unit to help with the cleanup. The drive was pinned inside the cab and had to be removed by our guys. He was alert and conscience but I know he was med-flighted from the scene.”
Walls said the scene was cleaned up quickly after the wreck and was no longer a traffic issue for motorists traveling down Warrenton Road.
